Player Expectations

Welcome to the Breakers Labs De Jong 12U 2026 Season!

This is the start of a brand-new season and a brand-new team. Everyone begins with a clean slate. What defines us moving forward is how we work, how we compete, and how we treat each other every day.

Team Goal

To become the best versions of ourselves as players and teammates through effort, focus, and competing the right way.

Team Identity

Being a Breaker means:

  • Work hard
  • Hustle
  • Compete
  • Be a good teammate

This applies to everything we do: practices, games, warm-ups, and how we support our teammates.

Player Expectations

Attitude, Effort, and Focus

These are always in your control.

  • Bring energy
  • Stay locked in
  • Compete no matter what

Be a Good Teammate

  • Support your teammates
  • Pick each other up
  • Celebrate effort, not just results

Team > Me, always.

Accountability

Accountability means:

  • Being prepared
  • Exhausting all your options
  • Controlling your effort and focus
  • Competing through good days and bad days

Accountability is not:

  • Stats
  • Playing time
  • Comparing yourself to others

Communication and Responsibility

Being prepared is part of being a good teammate. When one player is not ready, it impacts the entire team.

Players are expected to:

  • Wear the correct uniform
  • Bring water, sunscreen, and any snacks or food needed
  • Arrive on-time to start on-time
  • Have all equipment out and ready before practice begins (cleats on, water ready, helmet, batting gloves, fielding glove, face mask, etc.)
  • Pay attention to group texts for homework or reminders
  • Ask questions if something is unclear
  • Be completely engaged during games and practices
  • No eating (even seeds and gum) in the dugout (unless cleared by the coaches)
  • No sitting on coaches’ buckets

Practices and game warm-ups start on-time, with or without you.

If these expectations are not met, the team will run laps. This is not a punishment, it’s a reminder that preparation and responsibility matter, and that we are accountable to each other as teammates.

Our Commitment to You

Your coaches will teach the game, push you to improve, and support you along the way. If you bring effort, focus, and accountability, we will bring the rest.
